The Events calender is generated by the Calendar Extension and it is very simple to use, first create a page for your event (if you don't already have one) and then add Category tags to it like this:

 [[Category:Events]]
 [[Category:2009/10/20]]

And that's it -- your event should now be listed on the calender, you can also have multiple dates for one page, for example if you create a page for a regular meeting.

The Events Category page lists all the pages that have the Events tag.
